About Sophisticated Analytical Instrument Facility

SAIF, ICAR-VPKAS houses a variety of analytical instruments which are operated and maintained by a dedicated and qualified group of Scientists.

Instrumental methods of analyses form an indispensable aspect of any R & D program.

The main objectives of SAIF facility in ICAR-VPKAS:

  1. To provide for guidance acquisition of data using Sophisticated Instruments.

  2. To provide facilities of sophisticated analytical instruments to scientists and other users from academic institutes, R&D laboratories and industries to enable to carry measurements for R&D work.

How to use Facility

  • Registration is absolutely essential for Universities/Colleges and Industries.
  • Scholars and scientists can come in-person or send samples along with a letter from the head/guide in a letterhead duly signed and sealed for registration stating that the analysis is meant for research purpose.
  • The letter should be addressed to

         The Director

         ICAR-Vivekananda Parvatiya Krishi Anusandhan Sansthan

         Mall Road, Almora-263601, Uttarakhand

         email: director[dot]vpkas[at]icar[dot]gov[dot]in,  vpkas[at]nic[dot]in.

  • In all cases i.e university/college/national lab/industry, the letter to the Director, ICAR-VPKAS should also consists the following undertaking “In any event, the content of the report/bill is meant for our information only and we will not use the content of this report/bill for advertisement, evidence of litigation".

     

  • In the letter also mention that “you agree to acknowledge SAIF, ICAR-VPKAS, in your publication, thesis if the SAIF instrument results are incorporated/used in them".

Charges

All the users are required to submit MSDS (Material Safety Data Sheets) for each sample they submit and a certificate stating that the samples submitted are non- toxic / non-hazardous and sample does not require special precaution while handling.
