Kisan Diwas (farmer’s day) was organized at Experimental Farm, Hawalbagh as a part of action plan of Swachhta Pakhwada on December 23, 2022. This special day is celebrated every year to promote awareness amongst people about the importance of the farmers to the society. Kisan Gosthi was organized in which 50 farmers of adopted villages under Scheduled Caste Sub Plan and NMSHE-II were encouraged about importance and benefits of scientific cultivation of onion and garlic. Lectures on mushroom cultivation and its products were also organized on Mushroom Day. A Scientist-Farmer-Interaction programme was also organized. Scientists and farmers shared the knowledge on various aspect of farming. Farmers shared their experiences and problems in farming and made the scientists aware about the problems faced by them while adopting the new technologies. Director, ICAR-VPKAS emphasized the importance of Swachhata in day to day life. Onion seedlings and small tool kits were distributed among farmers. The programme was coordinated by Drs. BM Pandey, NK Hedau and KK Mishra.
