A training program on “Short course on Hill Agriculture” was organised by ICAR-VPKAS, Almora from 17th June-21st June 2022. The training program was coordinated by Dr. Tilak Mondal, Dr. Jeevan B, and Dr. Priyanka Khati. The Director of the institute inaugurated the training program in the presence of scientists and trainees. A total of twenty-eight students from Banaras Hindu University, Varanasi attended the training program. Out of 28 students, 24 students were from UG 2nd year and 4 were from 3rd year. Scientists of the institute have delivered 13 lectures on diverse areas of hill agriculture along with practical exposure which includes Integrated Pest and Disease management, Organic farming, Farm mechanization, biotechnology, Mushroom cultivation, protected cultivation, bee keeping etc. The trainees also visited ICAR-CITH, ICAR-IVRI Regional station, Mukteshwar, and HILANS at Hawalbagh. At the end of the training the trainees expressed that they have been benefited from the training, which enhanced their theoretical as well as practical Knowledge on the different areas of hill agriculture. The training was concluded by felicitation of the students by the Director of the institute.
