ICAR-VPKAS Celebrated National Nutrition Week at KVK, Bageshwar and KVK, Chinyalisaur from 1st to 7th September 2017. During the week, various awareness programme were conducted for farm women, anganwadi workers, ANMs, ASHA and Students. Training programme on “Techniques of making high nutrition and low cost food receipes at house hold level” was organised for farm women. Complete process of making ragi/ barnyard millet namkeen, soy milk and tofu was demonstrated. An awareness programme was conducted on importance of balanced diet for the pregnant and lactating mothers. A Training programme was conducted on importance of nutritional garden at village level. An awareness programme was organized at KVK campus for school children on importance of balanced diet, good food habits, nutrient deficiency diseases and deficiency symptoms through power point presentations.
Eassy writing, slogan, extempore competition were also organised for students. Literature related to balanced diet, immunization and importance of locally available food item were distributed among participants.
